Last night Tom and I headed down to Old Sacramento for his annual work dinner party. When we arrived nearly all the parking structures were full! It took us a bit to grab a spot, and that was only after coaching from the parties that were already there! But find a spot we did and as we walked through old town, well really on the edge, we wondered where was everybody? We saw that the Polar Express was happening at the train station, but even that did not explain the crowds…Then as we got closer to our destination restaurant we happened upon this. It was the Old Sacramento Tree Lighting, and there was Santa on one side of the street and on another balcony across from him was Jack Frost. They were having a debate as to what color all the lights in Old Town should be, and RIGHT AFTER I took this picture, Jack Frost, fed up with Santa, blasted him with his freeze, and POOF! Santa was gone…We were already late so I can’t tell you what happened, BUT I can tell you that when we exited our dinner and headed back through the town, Santa’s Jolly colorful Christmas lights were all aglow, and jack Frost and his blue/purple theme were no where to be found:-) I guess we know who won out!
By the way the dinner we had was GREAT! I had a beet salad, and Cajun Linguine, while Tom had Short Ribs, yummy! We ate at the Pilot House Restaurant on the Delta King.
